I am guy who likes to drink. That’s pretty much 90% of my credibility when it comes to booze, but here’s a little more information about me:

I was the spirits specialist, media specialist, wine club manager, and buying manager for K&L Wine Merchants from 2007 to 2018, but I was mostly known for my somewhat outspoken blog. I spent a decade traveling around the world, searching out interesting wines and spirits, and consulting for some of the industry’s biggest brands.

At the beginning of 2018, I left K&L to fight cancer as part of Ciitizen, a Silicon Valley start-up that needed a marketing and communications director. I learned a TON about the modernization of public outreach during that year.

After fulfilling my duties in tech land, I moved to Los Angeles to take on the distribution challenge with Pacific Edge as its director of sales. As someone who spends most of my day driving from bar to bar, and retailer to retailer, my finger is closer than ever to the pulse of the street. Talking with retail buyers, bartenders, sommeliers, and restaurateurs is most of my job.

Booze Landscape is a reflection of what’s happening in the real world with wine and spirits, outside of what you might read in the major publications, and beyond what today’s marketing might have you believing.
